From Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana, a new sentinel for atmospheric observation is preparing to ascend. The Meteosat Third Generation-Imager2 (MTG-I2) satellite, developed by the European Space Agency (ESA) for Eumetsat, is scheduled for launch aboard an Ariane 6 rocket on 27 August 2026.
